Karachi Hosts Pakistan’s Largest Chef Induction Ceremony: 550+ Young Chefs Join CAP at Grand Event

The Chefs Association of Pakistan (CAP), the country’s only national member of the World Association of Chefs’ Societies (WACS), celebrated a historic milestone at the Arts Council Karachi with the induction of over 550 student chefs into its official ranks. Powered by Young’s Food, this grand Membership Award Ceremony was a momentous occasion for the nation’s hospitality industry.

The new members, all students of the College of Tourism & Hotel Management (COTHM) Karachi, are now part of CAP’s national network and connected globally through its WACS affiliation. This recognition symbolizes their official entry into the world of professional culinary arts—guided by international standards, ethics, and discipline.

In a powerful and emotional highlight, Mr. Sabir Ahmed, Executive Director of COTHM Karachi, led all inductees in a formal oath, pledging loyalty to their profession and to Pakistan. His keynote speech stirred pride and purpose:

Prominent figures in attendance included Mr. Usaid Ahmed (Director Operations, COTHM), Syed Azhar Jameel (Vice President Corporate, CAP), and Mr. Muhammad Farooq (National Sales Manager, Young’s Food), who personally distributed certificates and souvenirs to the students.
