The agreement was signed by founder and CEO COTHM Mr Ahmad Shafiq and the Director General of Walled City of Lahore Authority, Kamran Lashari.
Through this strategic collaboration, both parties will support each other in enhancing the quality of education and exposure of students and the quality of research as well as designing and conducting collaborative international seminars/ conferences in the area of process safety science, culinary arts, culture and heritage.
Speaking at the occasion, Mr Ahmad Shafiq said, “COTHM provides a platform for quality education that upholds the notion of degree with skills. We are confident that this partnership will create knowledge resources among the youth and the business community alike while providing strategic direction for all the stakeholders.
The aim of this collaboration is to promote Pakistani cuisine as a niche tourism product across the globe.
It will also help in institutionalizing a mechanism to support efforts intended to preserve, document, promote and disseminate Pakistani cuisine and cultural heritage of the city.
The collaboration of both the organizations will create opportunities to jointly plan and execute annual international culinary festivals, featuring multi-level culinary competitions, engaging local and international culinary teams which will help identify and promote the young culinary talent of Pakistan and promoting our traditional and regional Pakistani cuisine. Training and capacity building of the food handlers in traditional eateries and restaurants to equip them on food safety and hygiene will also make part of the joint initiatives.
The CEO of COTHM Pakistan & Dubai, Ahmad Shafiq and the Director General of WLCA, Kamran Lashari, expressed their determination and resolve to achieve the set objectives in coming months.
