This qualification is aimed at individuals who are or intend to be, food handlers working in catering. The objective of this qualification is to prepare learners for employment in a catering role or to support a role in the workplace.

Module 1 Introduction to food safety
Module 2 Microbiological hazards ( Bacteria)
Module 3 Food poisoning and its control
Module 4 Contamination hazards and controls
Module 5 Food handlers and personal hygiene
Module 6 Food premises and equipment
Module 7 Food pests and control
Module 8 Cleaning and disinfection
Module 9 HACCP from purchase to service

On successful completion of this qualification, learners may wish to continue their development by undertaking one of the following qualifications:

  • Level 3 Award in Food Safety for Catering
  • Level 3 food and drink qualifications
  • Hospitality competency-based qualifications
