Skardu is a city in the northern area of Gilgit-Baltistan where people can find historical and beautiful areas. Skardu is located at the junction of the Indus and Shigar rivers and in the past the world’s renowned silk route was passing through it making it important transit point between Central Asian and Indian subcontinent . It has roots that date back to the ancient kingdoms, as evidenced by the art and architecture of Buddhism, Persian and Tibetan architecture that shapes the region via the remains and rock carvings of Buddhist Monasteries. Skardu was also employed as a military position by different empires like the Mughals Empire and the Dogras Empire before joined Pakistan in the year nineteen forty-seven. Because of its incredible landscape and historical importance, Skardu holds great cultural importance and prominence as a tourist destination in the northern area of Pakistan.
